Herb & Mike Sheaner attend
Flag of Friendship Ceremony in the towns of St. Vith and Vielsalm
December 14-15, 2013
Dad and I just returned from Germany/Belgium where we attended the second annual Flag of Friendship Ceremony in the towns of St. Vith and Vielsalm. I’m sure you will hear more from Dad and the event organizers very soon. Events of the day were organized by friends of the 106th Carl Wouters, Doug Mitchell and Hugo Rietveld with help from Eddy Monfort, Eddy Lamberty, Denise Oger and Anne-Marie Noël-Simon of CRIBA and many others.
Next year’s event is sure to be even bigger and better with the hopes that more veterans will attend. As John Schaffner once said, no one can believe the reception veterans receive from our friends in Belgium until they experience it for themselves. (John, everyone asked about you and hope to see you again soon!).

Here are two articles that appeared in the Belgium papers; the one reporting on Dad’s visit to the high school in Prum Germany where he spoke to students might be good for the next CUB.
