FROM THE EDITOR
This will be the last issue of the Cub -- before the St. Vith trip. For those attending I am sure it will be a most exciting time. I only regret Martha and I will be unable to be along with you. Time passes so quickly that it hardly seems a year since we took on the frightening task of putting out the "Cub". In all honesty, I must say it has been a year filled with many new experiences in the undertaking. Also a few disappointments crept in but we have enjoyed our work, and the overall cooperation from the membership has kept our spirits high and our hands busy. If the Board of Directors so desires we will be most happy to continue to be co-editors along with our good friends Bob and Jean Gilder for another year. It has been a genuine pleasure to serve this association and our best wishes go to you for a successful reunion and vacation in Europe. We look forward with a great deal of enthusiasm to seeing all in Davenport, Iowa in 1970.
Martha and John Fritz

NOTE OF APPRECIATION FROM MRS. ALYS JONES
The family of the late General Alan Walter Jones wish to express sincere, appreciation for the many cards, telegrams, flowers, church prayers, mass cards, various donations, and many expressions of sympathy from the members of the 106th Division Association.
To the Cub, our deep gratitude for the issue dedicated to the family and the beautiful articles written about General Jones. The presence in person and in thought of our 106th friends sustained us in our bereavement. Mrs. Alan Walter Jones; Colonel Alan Walter Jones Jr. and family; Colonel Ewald Arnold Vom Orde, USMC and family 2nd Lieutenant Alan Walter Jones III, VN.

Walter Bandurak 219% North Maple Ave., Greensburg, Pa. 15601 sends us some bad news about a 106th member. James V. Malesky of 173 Craig Dr., Greensburg, passed away after a lingering illness.
